The Premier League's Worst XI from this week's matches

It's not surprising to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Premier League's worst XI, but why is there only one Evertonian?

According to Whoscored ratings, here is the worst XI from this week's Premier League matches...

5.13 Vicente Guaita

Tottenham conceded four goals in 24 second-half minutes, but the Crystal Palace goalkeeper was not directly responsible for any of them. The Spaniard was perhaps caught under the cross for Harry Kane's opener, but unlike Kepa, he did not simply let the ball drift across his goal.

5.91 Adam Smith

Smith is just ahead of Everton right-back Nathan Paterson (5.95), but the 31-year-old wasn't Bournemouth's worst-rated defender. Marcos Senesi has the dubious distinction. However, there were worse centre-backs, such as Virgil van Dijk (5.73), Conor Coady (5.74), and Lyanco (5.74).

4.67 Ibrahima Konate

Konate was the team's worst center-back. The Liverpool defender had a nightmare evening at Brentford in his first game back from the World Cup. He was caught off guard when marking Ben Mee, allowing him to divert a corner into his own net, and he was shurugged aside with alarming ease when Bryan Mbeumo made the game safe for the Bees.

4.86 Marc Guehi

When Spurs arrived, the Palace center-back had a nightmare second half. In the build-up to Kane's opener, his poor defensive header under no pressure gifted the visitors possession; Guehi failed to get close enough to Kane for his second; and he was all over the place under a high ball before Son Heung-min rounded off a 4-0 defeat for Palace. Do you have any questions for Patrick Vieira?

5.86 Pascal Struijk

The Leeds defender struggled in the first half against West Ham, conceding a penalty that allowed the Hammers to go in level at the break. Struijk regained his composure in the second half, but Max Wober arrived to play at left-back, allowing him to return to center-back.

5.45 Idrissa Gueye

It takes a lot to be the worst player on that Everton team, but the central midfielder did it with one of the season's worst, laziest passes, allowing Pascal Gross a free run on goal for Brighton's fourth. He also failed to make a tackle in the build-up to the Seagulls' second goal before being hooked shortly after the hour mark. Wretched.

5.16 Brenden Aaronson

The American struggled to provide Leeds with any attacking impetus in the 63 minutes before being replaced, with his most notable contribution being the turnover that led to West Ham's second goal immediately after halftime. Jesse Marsch acknowledged the summer signing's struggles when he summarized his recent form.

5.84 Michael Olise

Olise makes his second appearance in the worst XI over the festive period, following a similarly poor performance in Palace's previous home defeat to Fulham. Things might have turned out differently if Jordan Ayew had passed instead of shot in the first half, much to Wilfried Zaha's chagrin. However, Olise was only successful with one of 11 crosses, lost six of his eight duels, and gave away possession 25 times before being replaced on 73 minutes.

5.81 - Harvey Barnes

Barnes, who was in the same Worst XI midfield as Olise last week, has a similar story. The Leicester wideman squandered one big chance against Fulham, with his opponent winning 11 of his 13 duels. Five fouls were called and 14 times possession was lost.

Aubameyang, Pierre-Emerick - 5.62

Started on the bench and returned with a quarter of the game remaining and Chelsea chasing a goal. Aubameyang had 13 touches in the short time he had, none of which were significant. "I thought he did everything he could for the team," Graham Potter said, which was probably not meant as a compliment.

5.67 Che Adams

After failing to fool the Forest defense, the Southampton striker beats out Darwin Nunez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Olly Watkins to partner Aubameyang. Adams had the Saints' best chance, but he skewed horribly wide early on. That set the tone for another defeat in which the hosts failed to register a single shot on goal.
