Mykhaylo Mudryk: The Ukrainian Winger in Demand by Arsenal and Chelsea

Mykhaylo Mudryk is in high demand this January, with Arsenal and Chelsea vying for the 22-year-old winger's services.
The Shakhtar Donestk forward has made no secret of his desire to leave the Ukrainian giants, and has openly stated that he would be disappointed if he could not force a departure this month.
Mudryk first emerged as a target for the Gunners, who have long wanted to improve their wide options to relieve the pressure on Bukayo Saka.
However, Arsenal's London rivals Chelsea have emerged as a possible destination for Mudryk in recent days, with the Blues rumoured to be willing to meet Shakhtar's astronomical £88 million asking price - unlike Mikel Arteta's men.
Initially, it appeared that the Gunners had little to worry about because Mudryk appeared to be focused solely on the Emirates. The Ukrainian international was regularly liking Instagram posts about his proposed Arsenal transfer and even uploaded footage of himself watching Arteta's side of the story.
A week later, when the Gunners traveled to Brighton, now managed by Mudryk's former coach Roberto De Zerbi, the winger took to social media to share a photo of Arteta and De Zerbi on the touchline with the caption 'two top coaches'.
Mudryk's social media exploits made it appear as if he had only ever had eyes for Arsenal - but new reports suggest he has had his head turned slightly by Chelsea's interest.
Shakhtar's sporting director Darijo Srna and CEO Serhii Palkin have met with Blues owner Todd Boehly, who is thought to be keen on luring Mudryk away from table-toppers Arsenal.
The aforementioned Shakhtar duo were spotted in Boehly's box during Chelsea's 1-0 home loss to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on Thursday night.
Chelsea's key injuries suffered in that defeat to Pep Guardiola's side have only increased their desire to sign Mudryk, given the Blues' current injury list, which includes Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic.
Despite this, Arsenal are reportedly confident that they are still in the driving seat in the race for Mudryk, despite Chelsea's interest. The Gunners are adamant that they will not be drawn into a bidding war for the 22-year-old and are still wary of meeting Shakhtar's asking price.
This transfer saga has all the ingredients to last until the end of the transfer window later this month.
